Throughout worship each autumn season, our church begins a giving journey together. This season will invite us to reflect on the spiritual practice of generosity and to give thanks for all of God’s gifts to us.

​

We often think of stewardship as something we just talk about once a year. But generosity is about so much more than what we give, and it's embedded into the story of our lives as Christians.

​

As we embark on this journey together, we acknowledge the unique perspectives of our church family, while realizing we all follow Jesus in a way that's different from the world around us. Connected is an opportunity to deepen our relationship with God, strengthen our relationships with one another, discover our God-given purpose, and participate more fully as a community serving as one body in God’s mission.  We are blessed to see radical love and generosity at work here, and in 2026 God’s grace surrounded us as we:

• Celebrated 9 baptisms — 5 adults and 4 children — following 4 adult baptisms in 2025, with others reaffirming their faith. We pray our church family continues to grow in 2027!

​

• Cared for our planet! Our Creation Care Team advocated for creation by supporting Jim Becker's proposed ordinance to encourage native plant growth in Elizabethtown. The group recently prepared a statement on data centers and the stewardship of God's creation.

​

• Connected with our neighbors across the globe — through our partnership with Living Waters for the World, more than 190,000 people in Guatemala enjoy access to clean water through 32 water purification systems installed by our volunteers since 2008.

​

• Supporting Room In the Inn — RITI was able to stay open as a day shelter for the second summer in row due to the support we provide. We will continue to volunteer this winter as RITI reopens the overnight shelter.

​

• Connected with each other across generations — because of our congregation’s generosity, three of our FPC children and four adult chaperones were able to experience God at work during Passport Kids Camp in June at Berea College.

​

We are so glad you are a part of this community, and your presence is a gift to us. We invite you to prayerfully consider making a commitment to participate with others in the congregation in funding the ministry of this church for 2027.
