The Life of the Church

The Session has called a congregational meeting for Sunday, July 30, immediately following worship, for the purpose of electing officers. Please plan to be here. We are also in need of several more members of the Nominating Committee for 2023-2024. Perhaps God is calling you?

We give thanks to God for the birth of Angelo Crue Garcia, grandson of Lisa Wiggins and great-grandson of Christine Wiggins! Lisa will be on vacation this week, July 24-28. Let Christine or Pastor Chelsea know if you have any office needs.

Tools For School will take place at the Bluegrass Sportsplex on Sunday, July 30 from 2:30-6:30pm. At Tools for School, approximately 250 children from our local schools will have the opportunity to receive a brand-new outfit and shoes and shop free of charge for all of their school supplies. You can serve as a part of our event team-- Contact Joy at swopeje@hotmail.com for more details or sign up here: toolsforschool.online

The parking lot will be paved the week of July 31st. A-1 Paving will need 3 or 4 days to complete the job, but will be done by Saturday, August 5th. During this time, parking will be limited.

The Memorial Garden Renovation Team invites everyone to view and comment on the landscaping plans and guidelines that we have collected, displayed in the Fellowship Hall. Comments can be placed in a sealed box. Comments and questions can be directed to Lynn Phipps or Tom Arney. We'll consider everything at our next meeting on August 8. Thank you for your help!

The next Nurture Nature Series event is Saturday, August 12 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. with Hugo Davis MS, owner of Bluegrass Gardening Center, a specialist in KY ornamental plants, Native Plantings; As Zone Recommendations Change, ‘What Will Thrive in this Environment?’

Pastor Chelsea will be serving as camp chaplain at Pyoca’s Weekend at the Lake September 1-4, Labor Day weekend. It is open to individuals and families of all ages! Don't have a lake house? Who needs one! Join us at camp for a fun-filled weekend relaxing at Pyoca's waterfront where you can swim, boat, fish, and enjoy all that Creation has to offer. Folks will have lots of fun activities to choose from throughout the weekend led by the fantastic program staff. Pyoca is in Brownstown, IN, a little over an hour and a half from Etown. There are options to stay in cabins, tents, or your RV, and you can stay for two or three nights. You can also even just come for the day on Saturday. Scholarships are available through FPC. Talk to Pastor Chelsea for more info!
