“First Pres 101” class continues Sunday! If you are interested in joining the church or would like to learn more about it, we are in the midst of a 3-week class about Presbyterian theology, history, worship, and mission. We will meet following worship on September 26, and October 3. Today we will meet at the designated table with Pastor Chelsea during the picnic. If you are interested but would need a different day/time, let Chelsea know.
We are collecting the Peace and Global Witness Offering through Sunday, October 3. This nationwide, denominational offering enables the church to promote the peace of Christ by addressing systems of injustice in our own communities and around the world. Together we are building God’s household of peace where everyone is welcome; where all can find compassion, peace and justice.
I’ve Been Meaning to Ask.. What’s your favorite hymn? In order to enhance our worship time and get to know one another better, Chelsea and the Worship Team would like to know your favorite hymns and worship songs. You can write them on your attendance sheet or email the church office. You can list as many as 3—we know it can be hard to decide!
We’re hiring—Jim Barnard has served steadfastly as our Director of Music for many years now and is planning to retire at the end of 2021. We are now advertising for the position of Music Director, and we continue to look for a permanent Church Musician (pianist/organist). The positions can be combined if there is an applicant with the necessary abilities. Please help us spread the word to anyone you may know who might be interested in either or both of these positions. More information can be found on the church website.
Welcome All: How to Make Friends and Be a Neighbor is our October Worship series, beginning on October 3, World Communion Sunday. This is part of a new curriculum titled “Follow Me: Biblical Practices for Faithful Living,” and we are starting with the practice of hospitality. We will rest in God who welcomes us wholeheartedly and consider how God might be calling us to welcome others. Through this we can increase the skills we have to be friends, neighbors, and community-builders!
