The Life of the Church

In worship on Nov. 12th, 2023, we invite you to submit your stewardship pledge for the coming year. A pledge is an estimate of how much you think you will give financially to the church in the year ahead (you can estimate based on weekly, monthly, or annually). You can pledge at any time, not just on Giving Sunday. Please keep an eye out for a mailing from the church with more information including your 2024 pledge card. We will also have paper copies available in worship and in the church office, and you can even pledge online on our website.

The Second Half Architects Discussion Group will have their next meeting on Tuesday, October 24 at 6:00 p.m. at Water’s Edge Winery. Please read the intro and Chapter One of From Strength to Strength by Arthur C. Brooks. We have study guides and other resources to help us with this discussion. We plan to meet every other week and cover a chapter each time. Feel free to invite any friends that you think might be interested or let Cathy Wilson know and she will send them info. If you have any questions, contact Cathy Wilson.

We will be honoring All Saints Day on Sunday, November 5. If you would like the name of a loved one who has died in the past year (since November of last year) listed in the bulletin, please indicate their name on the Connection Card or contact the church office at admin@etownpres.org by Tuesday, October 31.

Candy donations needed! We’ll be handing out candy to any young people in worship on Sunday, October 29. It’s just a little way to spread some fun and invite some friends to worship. We’re calling it “Candypalooza!” Drop donations off at church through Thursday, October 26.

On Thanksgiving Day, area churches and Helping Hand of Hope are co-sponsoring a Thanksgiving Dinner to be hosted at St. James School. (401 Robinbrooke Blvd. Elizabethtown) This meal is available to those who are unable to prepare a meal of their own. If you would like to have a meal, contact Helping Hand of Hope at 270-769-3092. Delivery and carryout are available. The cutoff date is November 20, 2023. If you would like to volunteer your time for preparation, serving, or meal delivering sign up at

270-268-6246.

First Presbyterian Church is responsible for 16 turkeys and 25 pies. Turkeys are $35 and pies are $6. We will be collecting money to purchase these. The last day to give will be November 16, 2023.
