ROOM IN THE INN

Room In The Inn provides evening shelter for local families and individuals dealing with housing insecurity and homelessness during the coldest winter months of December through February in Hardin County. First Presbyterian Church Outreach Team has committed to providing volunteers for this program for the nights of:

  • December 9th

  • January 13th

  • February 10th

Each night Room in the Inn will serve approximately 20 guests, and we need your help filling volunteer spots!! You can volunteer for more than one job slot on our night if desired.

Training is required, and support will be given to us from other churches who have previously been involved. Volunteer training dates for sessions taking place at Grace Heartland Church are:

Tuesday, November 16 from 10:30 am - 12:00pm

Thursday, November 18 from 7:00 pm to 8:30pm

Saturday, November 20, 10:30am - 12:00 pm

Volunteers only have to attend one training, and we all don't have to attend the same one. College Heights Methodist will also potentially be having more training dates which will be relayed once those dates are known. Please RSVP for a training date to Joy Swope at swopeje@hotmail.com ASAP if you are interested in volunteering. If you cannot attend any of those dates, several members of the FPC Outreach Team will be attending and will be able to help train additional volunteers at a later date.
