In the Life of the Church October 22, 2021

We will have a church campfire and s’mores party on Friday, October 29, at 7:00 pm in the fire ring off the back parking lot.

Next Sunday is Halloween! In the spirit of celebration, you are very welcome to wear a costume. There may or may not be a prize for best costume… we’ll have to see!

On Sunday, November 7, we will commemorate All Saints’ Day during worship. There will be a time of remembrance for those who have died since the previous All Saints’ Day. If you have someone whose name you would like to be read during the service, contact the church office or indicate the name on our connection card.

A huge thank you is in order to all First Presbyterian Elizabethtown members for your very generous donations to the Warm Blessings Driving Into Fall campaign! Pastor Chelsea, Candy Ott and Joy Swope had the pleasure of presenting them a check for $3230 for gas cards and blessing bags yesterday. Thank you to all who support them with prayers, volunteer work and donations!

Keep in Touch: You can stay in touch with Bob Beatty and Susan with the following contact information: 580 S. Gilbert, Apt. 217Gilbert, AZ. 58296 - Ph: 480-597-5157. They would love to hear from their church family!

I’ve Been Meaning to Ask.. What’s your favorite hymn? In order to enhance our worship time and get to know one another better, Chelsea and the Worship Team would like to know your favorite hymns and worship songs. You can write them on the connection card or email the church office at admin@etownpres.org. You can list as many as 3—we know it can be hard to decide!

We’re hiring—Jim Barnard is planning to retire at the end of 2021. We are now advertising for the position of Music Director, and we continue to look for a permanent Church Musician (pianist/organist). The positions can be combined if there is an applicant with the necessary abilities. Please help us spread the word. More information can be found on the church website.

Nursery-Preschool Teacher- We are searching for a friendly and reliable nursery-preschool assistant for Sunday mornings and possibly other occasions. The person needs to be available on Sunday from 10:00 A.M.to 11:00 A.M. for class. A complete curriculum is provided with prayers, stories, and crafts for the children. The person will work with the present teacher, Vicki Johnson. A background in child development is helpful. This is a paid position beginning at $12.50 an hour. Applications are available in the church office. Any questions, please speak with Cynthia Miske, camiske@hotmail.com.

Our thanks to Ann Kelley and Lynn Phipps for helping with their calligraphy talent. They will bring +all our pastors’ photos and the sons and daughters who have gone into ministry up to date, so that our gallery in the Fellowship Hall will be complete.
