First Pres Etown News and Opportunities

Our Room in the Inn Team is having a quick meeting following worship Sunday 1/9 in the Activity Room. We will check in and go over roles for our next night of our serving, this Thursday January 13. We only have two more opportunities to serve this season!

Is your picture in our picture directory yet? If not, someone will be available following worship to take your picture, and we will put it in the directory for you.

Worship Team meets on Tuesday, January 11, at 1:00 pm. If you’d like to help shape our worship through our art, music, liturgy, decorations, or in any other way, this is a great way to get involved and make an impact. You are welcome to check out the meeting if you’re curious, and don’t worry, must showing up doesn’t sign you up for a lifetime commitment.

We will have a retirement party for Jim Barnard on Sunday, January 16, following worship. We are collecting gifts and cards for him. Plan to celebrate Jim’s long and faithful ministry at FPC as music director.

Thank you to our esteemed group of painters for adding some fresh life to our preschool classrooms: Kermit Olive, Ann Kelley, Fred Rucker, and Brenda Livesay. Your hard work is very appreciated!

We welcome Frank Richmond as our new music director and accompanist! Make sure to welcome him! We will share more about him in the coming weeks to help you get to know him.

We welcome Dani Cole as our new church treasurer. Thank you for stepping up to use your gifts in this way! Thank you, too, to Doug Smith for his service this past year as treasurer and coordinator of the offering counters. Your faithful ministry has really helped the church!

Thank you to all our Christmas Eve greeters, musicians, worshippers, pageant participants, readers, and everyone else who helped bring us a wonderful day of worship!

Pastor Chelsea will make a donation to a non-profit organization for each Connection Card we receive from now through the end of January. Indicate on the Connection Card on the back of your bulletin which of these organizations you would like to receive a gift in your honor: Presbyterian Disaster Assistance KY Tornado Relief, Warm Blessings, CASA of the Heartland, or Feeding America Kentucky’s Heartland.
