Living Waters for the World - Trip of May 6 through May 19, 2016
A little about ourselves
Living Waters Guatemala Project to Install 3 More Systems
In January 2016, the Living Waters Guatemala Project team visited operating partners in Guatemala sharing the gift of clean water. We met with 14 of our 16 partners and were happy to find that all, but one, were still committed and doing a wonderful job. Caserio Tuilo’j was the exception, but that visit resulted in an agreement to relocate the system where it will once again produce clean water.
In addition to our follow-up visits, we met with 7 new churches considering the project, and 3 signed covenants to serve the water needs of their communities. All 3 partners indicated they would have their system rooms and volunteers ready for installation by May.
The team returns on May 6, 2016 with 3 more systems and training materials for health and hygiene to get those partners equipped and operating. We will continue visits to potential partners, and follow-up the operating partners missed in January.
Jesus used “living water” for some of His teachings. Our training incorporates Biblical stories like the Samaritan woman at the well. Most of our partners are evangelical churches. They understand the good news clean water offers and the healing that “living water” brings. They desire to share the gift of clean water in their community for both the bodies and souls of all who receive it.
I hope you are wondering what you can do to be a part of this vital mission. First of all, you can pray for our operating partners who carry out the mission every day for the people of Guatemala. Specifically be praying for Caserio Tuilo’j, the small mountaintop community that is temporarily without clean water. Pray that a new partner will soon be found to share the gift again. Please also pray for the team as they travel, train, and equip our new partners.
Another way you can participate is to support the fundraisers. Each system costs about $3,500 just for the equipment. Travel fares, training materials, and meals add to the costs of getting new partners installed.
