Job description:

  • Facilitate all aspects of recording and live streaming the worship service

  • Upload edited video to social media platforms

  • Be present at the Sunday morning worship service

  • Set up/take down/storage of equipment

  • Comply with all church Covid-19 protocols

  • Help with other media projects as needed


Part time position:  Contract services, 4-8 hours per week (one Sunday service at 10:00 AM)


Salary: Hourly rate, $11.00 to $16.00 based on training and experience.

1. Provide music for two weekly Sunday morning worship services in cooperation with the choir director and/or worship ministry team and under the supervision of the pastor.

a. Play piano/keyboard as a part of a musical team with other musicians from the congregation (vocalists, other            instrumentalists playing guitar/recorder/percussion/etc) for the 8:45 a.m. service. This is an informal worship service held in the fellowship hall of the church. Music in this service primarily accompanies congregational singing and occasionally accompanies individuals or groups. Be available for rehearsals with the team on Sunday mornings before the 8:45 service and with individuals or small groups at mutually agreed upon times.


b. Play the organ (and when appropriate, the piano) for the 11:00 a.m. worship service. This is a more traditional service held in the sanctuary. Music required for this service may include: a prelude; offertory; postlude; hymns; accompaniment for choir, small groups, duets and solos; meditative music during communion; etc. Be available to rehearse with the choir or other musicians at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings and with individuals or small groups at mutually agreed upon times.


2. Provide musical accompaniment for group singing during 2nd Wednesday of the month evening dinners/Bread for the Journey programming in cooperation with the song leader. These dinners will be bi-weekly during Advent and weekly during Lent.


3. Provide musical accompaniment for choir practice (scheduled at the discretion of the Choir Director; typically, on Wednesday evenings at 7:30).


4. Provide musical accompaniment for special services planned by the Pastor or Session such as Hanging of the Greens; Christmas Eve Service; Ash Wednesday Service; Tenebrae (Good Friday) Service; seasonal cantatas for Advent/Christmas and Lent/Easter; etc.




$8000 - $10,000 Negotiated based on training, ability and experience. The position is a part-time position and has no benefits.
